Whitewater Rescue Technician Recreational Instructor (WRTRI)
The Whitewater Rescue Technician – Recreational Instructor (WRTRI) pathway is designed for river professionals and outdoor instructors. It is designed for teaching whitewater rescue techniques. Those needing to teach a flood rescue capability should take the Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician Instructor course.
Prerequisites
- Whitewater Rescue Technician – Recreational (WRT-Rec)
- Whitewater Rescue Technician Professional (WRTP)
- Documented experience working in a Class III or above river environment
- EMT or Wilderness First Responder (WFR)
Qualification valid for
2 years
Instructor training & assessment
Observe, assist & be assessed by Whitewater Rescue Technician Instructor Trainer (WRT-IT) and/or as agreed upon with Rescue 3’s International office
