Swiftwater & Flood Rescue
Boat Operator Instructor (SFRBOI)

The Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Boat Operator Instructor pathway is designed for rescue professionals who want to teach the full suite of boat classes – FRBO, SRBO, and SFRBO – and includes flat/slow moving water rescue techniques, flood rescue techniques and swiftwater rescue techniques.

Prerequisites

Currently hold one of the following Instructor qualifications:

• Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician Instructor (SRTI)
• Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Advanced Instructor (SRTAI)
• Instructor Water & Rope (InsWR)
• Swiftwater Rescue – Instructor Trainer (SRT-IT)
• Instructor Water & Rope – Instructor Trainer (InsWR-IT)

Logged experience of power boat handling (1 year)
Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Boat Operator (SFRBO)
EMT or Wilderness First Responder (WFR)

Instructor training & assessment

Observe, assist & be assessed by Swiftwater Rescue Boat Operator Instructor Trainer (SRBO-IT) and/or as agreed upon with Rescue 3’s International Office

Qualification valid for

2 years

Able to teach
