Swiftwater and Flood Rescue First Responder Instructor (SFRI)
The Swiftwater and Flood First Responder Instructor (SFRI) pathway is designed for teaching personnel with a swiftwater and flood capability up to first responder level.
Prerequisites:
- Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician (SRT)
- EMT, Wilderness First Responder, or other equivalent medical qualification, appropriate for the environment in which they will be working
Instructor training:
- Swiftwater and Flood First Responder Instructor training
Instructor assessment:
- Swiftwater and Flood First Responder Instructor assessment
Candidates are expected to further develop their personal skills and knowledge between their training and assessment courses, following an individual action plan outlined in the training course debrief
Qualification valid for:
2 years
Able to teach:
- Water and Flood Awareness (AWR)
- Water Awareness and Safety (WAS)
- Basic Water Rescuer – Foundations (BWR-F)
- Basic Water Rescuer (BWR)
- Flood Operations (FO)
- Safe Working Near Water (SWNW)
- Safe Working in Water (SWIW)
- Swiftwater and Flood First Responder (SFR)
